I'm making a calender for my Gran for Christmas, using some of my work, and I realised I didn't have anything Wintery to use for December. So I came up with this. It's not much; just a painting of Doran looking cold in front of this atmospheric Winter Wonderland stock photo: [link] by :icontigg-stock:

Brrrr. :snowing: I feel cold now.

This is seriously one of the most amazing things I've ever seen! The colors are so harmonious, and the eyes and pose too.. I think you should start to do your own backgrounds, you obviously know how to compose them, just do the figure and the background first if it's easier for you and then put them together, but as far as paining goes, this is gorgeous!

I don't know the paining atmosphere reminds me a little bit of this poem : [link]

Hey, now I remember. Weren't you supposed to have holiday pics of castles and/or ruins and whatnot? You prooomised to show us! (actually, I'm not sure you did, but I remember you mentioning it and I was kind of looking forward to seeing them).

This looks great, btw. I would've used a color that blends in the background more for her clothes (like something blueish) to keep the focus on her face, but even so, it's lovely.

Ah ... um. Was I?

Crap, yes I do remember saying that. I totally forget. I haven't even developed the film in my camera for that holiday! Well, maybe after Christams when I've got more money ;)

I agree her colours don't exactly blend. Two reasons: 1) I wanted to make it look more realistic, therefore not worry so much about colour-coordination. In reality we don't walk outside our house with the soul purpose of matching our clothes to the weather. 2) I was kinda rushing it. Wanted to get it done so I could finish the calender and get it printed! :D
