This is one of the images to go with the Tarot story I was working on for my Final project at college. I was taking the traditional story that went behind the Tarot cards, of the Fool's journey. This is meant to be for the Chariot.
I'm not uploading them all here, because as a book it's a little difficult to do - especially as it's a pick-a-path book, so the story's not linear. But mainly because I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing, now it's done. So I'm only going to put up a few pages - probably sans text, too. This one just seemed appropriate now that the bulk of the project is, essentially, over and I'm free.
PS - I'm going to get back to drawing those character pages I promised from now on
I want to be youuuuuuuuu!!! *sniffle* Looks very VERY good, as expected! Can't wait to see the whole book. Well done on the mission accomplished Wasn't it fun? (please don't throw anything at me)
And no, it wasn't exactly "fun". To be honest, I was rushing through a lot of it in order to get the damn thing ready to be sent off - which is why I'm not sure whether I'm happy with it all Also I have one thing I KNOW I'm not happy about. The guy who compiled the thing for me (he's got a program that puts it into book format then sends it off to Apple to get printed) he's put the page numbers in the bottom middle of the page, rather then the bottom right corner! It looks so out of place to me next to the images - cluttered, almost. I had no control over it, so it's been done that way and I hate it like that! I thought it would be off to the side like normal books! How stupid! Grrrr. I'm angry, can't you tell?
And I just know that Neil's gonna say "why'd you put the page numbers in the middle? I'd have put them in the corner." I know, but it wasn't my choice!
Breathe!! Oxygen is important!! But you know its probably just glaringly obvious to you because you've been looking at it so closely for so long. The page numbers are a minor detail - I reckon we're doing a course in illustration, not book design and typography. Just make sure you mention the reason in your summery, and also make it clear you expect to be marked on the quality of your illustrations, not the graphic designy thingy
wow! this is awesome! I just started my art college. geez....the pressure! i like this one very much, especially the colours. and watercolour isn't an easy medium to work with, i've always thought.

Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
